Anna Simon, Spanish Television Goddess

Anna Simon Marí legends.filminspector.com

Anna Simon Marí (born 9 August 1982) is a legendary Spanish television host. Anna has her journalism degree and has been on television for a full decade. She first appeared on channel TeleTaxi, and then began regular appearances on "Estas no son las Noticias" ("This is Not the News") on channel 4 (Cuatro). Anna is a familiar face on Spanish-language television, though apparently, she hasn't done any work in the United States. I know, you probably have never read of Anna Simon before. Well, that's what we're here for! That's all right, a picture says a thousand words.

Anna Simon Marí legends.filminspector.com

Anna has been on numerous Spanish television programs pretty much continuously since she got out of school. Anna is renowned for her fabulous good looks and her bubbly personality. She does not take herself, or her material, too seriously. Anna also appeared on TV3, in "Tvist" and "Divendres" ("Friday"). Anna was the hostess of "Tonterías las Justas" ("Just Nonsense") on Channel 4 beginning in 2010. That led to another show the following year, "Otra Movida" ("Once Again"). Another classic appearance was on the singing competition show "Tu Cara Me Suena" ("I Recognize Your Face") for 20 episodes on Argentine television, which appeared on Antena 3. She came in 6th.

Anna Simon Marí legends.filminspector.com

That led to a role on "El Hormiguero" ("The Ant") on the same station. Anna does not stay idle for long. Her next show, in 2013, was as host of  "Así Nos Va" ("Here We Go") on La Sexta. After that show, Anna hosted the magic contest program "Por Arte de Magia" ("It's Magic") on Antena 3. Anna's career has exploded. She has been a guest or host on the following programs:
  • El Hormiguero 2012 - 2016 (Guest)
  • Tu Cara me Suena 2012 - 2016 (Guest/Contestant/Musical Guest)
  • Oh Happy Day 2017 (Host)
  • Zapeando 2013 -2017 Panelist)
  • Me Resbala (Guest)
However, that's not all that Anna does.

Anna Simon Marí legends.filminspector.com

Anna Simon also acts on the side. She has been in the following productions:
  • Muchachada mi (2010)
  • Fenómenos (2013)
  • Torrente 5 (2014)
  • Heroes Wanted (2016)
Anna stays busy. But wait, there's more!

Anna Simon Marí legends.filminspector.com

Ann also sings in many of her appearances, she doesn't just show up and toss off a few jokes or mug for the crowd. While many of her efforts are Spanish songs, she also performs U.S. hits like "Girlfriend," "Ironic" and "I'm So Excited." Anna maintains an active Twitter account, where she has about 2 million followers. Anna also is credited with writing her own gags, at least on "Divendres." Another show graced by Anna's presence is "Me Resbala" ("I Slide"). She is still on that one. In addition, she is on "Zapeando" ("Zapping"). So, she is on two television programs at once. Anna has had guest spots on other programs, too, such as "La partida de TV3" and "Alguna pregunta més?" Anna has over 550,000 Instagram followers. She posts a lot of pictures of her dogs along with the obligatory "candid" snaps of herself. Anna hails from Barcelona, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. They speak with a lisp there.

Anna Simon Marí legends.filminspector.com

Anna apparently is returning to "Tu Cara me Suena" as part of a duo with Ana Morgade. They will imitate the duo Brown Sugar. Anna is so famous that there are "doubles" of her. Other girls try to make themselves look like her, dress like her, and act like her. However, Anna Simon is quite unique.

Anna Simon Marí legends.filminspector.com

Anna is one of television's great comic actresses.

Anna Simon Marí legends.filminspector.com

Anna has a humorous take on just about everything. Anna's talent for mimicry is famous.

Anna Simon Marí legends.filminspector.com

She also is kind of a pop culture star far beyond her television shows.

Anna Simon Marí legends.filminspector.com

One could think of her as the modern Benny Hill. However, Benny Hill was a frumpy but funny man, and Anna Simon is not frumpy.

Anna Simon Marí legends.filminspector.com

Anna also can pass as a serious rock singer.

Anna Simon Marí legends.filminspector.com

And she can come up with funny bits on the spur of the moment. Another famous actress that Anna resembles is Lucille Ball, but with a sexier edge. Or maybe a modern Charo. Anna Simon is sure to be around on Spanish television for years to come.

Nikki Cox, "Vegas" and "Unhappily" Girl

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com
Nikki Cox.

Nikki Cox starred as Tiffany Malloy in "Unhappily Ever After," which was kind of a take-off on "Married With Children." While never quite as popular as the former, it gained a wide audience, defying expectations. That was largely due to Nikki, though there were several other outstanding performers (not to slight the others, but Geoff Pierson is a very under-rated actor) and behind-the-scenes people, too. Audiences watched Nikki develop from a teenager to a voluptuous woman.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki has one of the best resumes in the business for a television actor, and her occasional film appearances have been memorable. "Unhappily Ever After" from 1995-1999 made Nikki Cox a star with her knowing, self-conscious flaunting of her fabulous figure, but also has a comic flair that is unappreciated.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki is actually Nicole Avery Cox.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki got her start on "Mama's Family" in 1988. She has been in the business for a long time despite her young age.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Few remember that Nikki appeared in "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" (1991). Nikki wasn't a named character; she is the girl who tells Arnold to go to the Galleria to find who he is looking for.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki also starred in "Las Vegas" from 2003-2007. Having two successful series is a rarity in Hollywood. One could argue that she actually had four successful series, and very few stars pull that off.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki also starred on "Norm" from 1999 to 2001. It wasn't quite as successful as some of her other projects. However, it was on the air for two seasons, and that ain't beanbag.

Truly discriminating filmgoers will know that perhaps Nikki's best performance ever - ever! - was in "Run Ronnie Run" in 2002. She had some spectacular scenes as Kayla, the beer poster girl. I have a bunch of stills from it below. It has become an underground cult hit - people don't know about Nikki in "Run Ronnie Run" unless someone tells you about it. Well, you're welcome.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki also is one of the few actors to have a series named after her - "Nikki," which ran from 2000-2002. That series also arguably was successful. Basically, Nikki worked as a series regular from 1995 to 2007 on four separate series:

  • Unhappily Ever After (1995-1999)
  • Norm (1999-2001)
  • Nikki (2000-2003)
  • Las Vegas (2003-2007).

Only the truly greats manage to pull that kind of string off, and many of the ones that do accomplish it only ride a single successful series, often with an ensemble cast. To get cast in four successive series without interruption, collectively over 250 episodes, each of which last more than a year, is rare. Nikki also worked in side projects throughout that period, such as appearing in six episodes of "The Jake Effect" in 2006. For a year, Nikki even was a regular on two separate series. In essence, Nikki fit an entire successful lifetime television career into a dozen years.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

All that some actresses want is for people to take them seriously instead of caring about how they look. For me, I've worked hard for people to think I'm funny.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki also has a Star Trek credit, as Sarjenka on the 1989 "Pen Pals" "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki married comedian Jay Mohr in December 2006. They have one child, son Meredith.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki was ranked #89 in Stuff magazine's "102 Sexiest Women In The World" (2002), but should have been ranked higher. She also was ranked No. 51 on Maxim magazine's 2005 list.

Nikki is the step-mom of Jay's son Jackson.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki dropped out of high school to pursue acting, but later earned her diploma at age 16 by studying on set.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

"Unhappily Ever After" produced two relationships for Nikki. She dated her "brother" Kevin Connollyduring the series' first few years. After that relationship ended, Nikki dated comedian Bobcat Goldthwaite, who voiced "Mr. Floppy" in every episode of "Unhappily Ever After." Though cast as a voice actor for a stuffed animal, Goldthwaite managed to appear in person in an episode or two in "dream sequences." Cox and Goldthwaite reportedly were engaged at one point in the late '90s.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki also has the original "Baywatch" on her credits, and that is 100% appropriate for her. She played Charlene aka "Charlie."

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Jay Mohr legally changed his last name to Cox in honor of his wife. The status of the marriage is very much in doubt, with Jay having filed for divorce amidst allegations of drug problems and so forth. It is the second time he has filed for divorce - the first time, he withdrew the petition.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Jay has filed for sole custody of their son, Meredith Daniel Mohr, who was born on 5 May 2011.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Brother Matthew Cox says that Nikki made him the most popular guy in high school.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki was perhaps the prettiest girl on television in the mid-to-late '90s.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki Cox is hilarious in person. Here is her rambling response to a question about what it was like on the "Vegas" set:
It was totally the "Love Boat" like, hey, guess who's here? It was crazy because every week there was some ridiculous and amazing guest but we literally had so much fun. Elvis impersonators, Charo, Donnie Osmond, and Gladys Knight? One of the weirdest days of my life was when Jay was hosting at night and I didn't get much sleep but when I got to work, Donnie Osmond and Charo are there. So I'm sleep deprived and I'm like, is this happening? Is this my life right now?

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

There are a lot of rumors swirling about regarding Nikki's current appearance because she doesn't make many public appearances any more. Below are two pictures of Nikki Cox from 2014/2015. I think you'll agree that she looks fabulous.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki's husband gave her credit in 2015 for writing his Grammy-nominated comedy album, proving once again what a talented wife he has.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki parlayed her "Vegas" character into a gig as spokesmodel for Sportsbook.com.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki received a Grammy nomination as the sole writer of husband Jay's comedy album "Happy. And a Lot." The category was Best Comedy Album. Louis C.K. won for a recording of a live performance at Madison Square Garden.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

"Unhappily Ever After" lasted for 100 episodes from 1995-1999. Nikki was in every single episode.

Nikki Cox legends.filminspector.com

Nikki appeared in NBC soap opera "Passions" as her "Las Vegas" character Mary Connell. The circumstances of her leaving "Las Vegas" are murky, with some accounts saying that it was a salary issue, others saying that Nikki left to pursue other opportunities.

Heather Locklear, Stunning Blonde Legend

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com
Heather Locklear.

Everybody knows who Heather Locklear is. She was the star of "T.J. Hooker" with William Shatner, a fixture on "Dynasty," the siren of "Melrose Place," the best thing about "Spin City" aside from Michael J. Fox, and featured in too many other productions to bother listing.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Basically, Heather Locklear has been a Hollywood icon for decades. However, let's examine Heather a bit more closely.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather was born on September 25, 1961 in Westwood, California at exactly 5:40 PDT.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather has a daughter, Ava Elizabeth, with ex-husband Richie Sambora.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather has always had a thing for musicians. She married two of them.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather's father, William, is a top administrator at UCLA. She went there for a while, but then gave it up for acting.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com
Melrose Place involved a lot of cat fights.

Heather has had several incidents with the police relating to driving and people "concerned" about her and such. Typical Hollywood issues, why Hollywood women have so many difficulties with driving is a continuing mystery (though at least once Heather appears to have been set up by someone looking to make a buck off her). However, Heather has never been convicted of anything, unless you count a No Contest to Reckless Driving.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather was married to Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi, with whom she had daughter Ava on 4 October 1997. Before that, Heather was married to Tommy Lee of Motley Crue, too. She later went out with Jack Wagner, who has recorded six albums and had a hit song in the '80s. Heather's various exes and relations and so forth could start an awesome rock group all by themselves. Or have they? Maybe next week.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather's role as a police officer on T.J. Hooker enabled her to go undercover in sexy outfits. She kept that show on for years longer than it otherwise deserved.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather also credited with saving "Melrose Place" from cancellation. She was brought on as a guest star when it was having ratings trouble.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather refused a regular part on the TV series "Good Morning, Miami" (2002). She considered the role too similar to the one she had just played on "Spin City" (1996). The role that she turned down later went to Ashley Williams. But Heather was not out of work for long. She never is.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather is part Lumbee Indian. They are a community with mixed ancestry that is part Native American, African and European. They intermarried only with each other, which must make for a lot of close relations. However, all that said - Heather Locklear is mostly Scottish. Play those bagpipes, the pipes are calling, Oh Danny Boy!

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather was turned down by her high school cheerleading squad at Newbury Park High School in Newbury Park, California. Can you imagine? If you had to describe Heather's look as a young lady, "cheerleader" would be a top choice. But, they didn't take her. Amazing.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather used the rejection to join the drama club. And that, as we like to say, was a fateful fork in the freeway.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather, before she became a huge star, had big hair. Or, should I say, huge hair. Only later did she straighten it out, so when she became huge hair, she had smaller hair. Nothing wrong with big hair. Looks great on Heather. Just interesting, small star = big hair, big hair = small hair.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather is a close friend of David Spade and has a "Finch" tattoo on her ankle commemorating his biggest television role. Now that's true friendship.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

As mentioned, Heather had an on-and-off-again relationship with Jack Wagner of Melrose Place fame, whom she had met years before doing that show. The affair apparently ended in November 2011 when they called off their engagement - but who knows? It's Hollywood.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

It is unfair to compare Heather now with how she looked 35 years ago - after all, she was just starting out then and had to blossom into the fine figure of a woman she has become. Most agree that Heather remains in marvelous shape and can look great whenever she wants to. Make that - she always looks great. It's Heather Locklear.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Ever the music chick, Heather was in Toby Keith's video "Crash Here Tonight."

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather worked on two television series at once in the '80s: "Dynasty" and "T.J. Hooker." She did this for several years. That's rare, to have starring roles in two network shows at the same time. Heck, it's hard to get two network shows, let alone at the same time. For most people, that's inconceivable, but we're talking about Heather Locklear here.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather starred on "Spin City" with Charlie Sheen, then did a guest shot on his new series "Two and a Half Men." Obviously, she makes an impression on people like Charlie, and a good one, so she keeps getting called back.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Heather is cousins with Marla Maples, Donald Trump's wife of the '90s. So, Heather can probably visit the White House when the mood strikes. She continues to act, at last report starring in Tyler Perry's "Too Close to Home" on TLC. Heather started with a one-off guest appearance on that show, and now she's a regular. Same old Heather, she'll never change that way, gets her foot in the door and, before long, owns the door.

Heather Locklear legends.filminspector.com

Fans of mine, if they watched T.J. Hooker or Spin City, they're fans of Heather Locklear. If they call me Sammy Jo or Amanda, they're fans of the show.
