Denise Richards - Bond Girl Legend

Denise Richards is Legendary as Christmas Jones in "The World is Not Enough"

Denise Richards.

Denise Richards was simply awesome as Dr. Christmas Jones in Eon Productions' James Bond flick "The World is Not Enough" (1999). Richards didn't look or sound as if she had cracked a textbook in her life, and that is precisely why she is one of the best Bond girls of all time. You must understand what the James Bond series is all about to grasp that essential point.

"Denise, I hear Hugh Hefner has an opening for the Christmas Gala issue of Playboy magazine...."

Let's put it another way: Denise Richards was perfect for the role of Christmas Jones in "The World Is not Enough" because she is a woman of breathtaking beauty and easy charm.

The poster for "Undercover Brother" (2002) - folks, this is how you sell a movie.

Really, that is the requirement for the role of Bond Girl, and Denise met it to a T. She made an impression. People may joke about her playing a scientist... but they remember her.

Seriously, if you want to see some feminist man-hater, go watch the news channels. Without the Denise Richards, where could a guy have a little fun? We bless the Denise Richards of the world, each and every one.

Pierce: "Fire in the hole!" Denise: "Why, you fresh thing!"

Pierce Brosnan as James Bond 007 had a field day winding up on the slow-pitch softball set-ups and smacking them over the fence. Denise Richards, hands down, was the best thing about "The World is Not Enough," in fact, she probably was the only good thing about this mediocre spy flick besides the Garbage theme song.

But add one pretty girl, shaken, not stirred, and you have some classic Bond moments that I am willing to bet even old would have liked. Below are some of the best.

Denise Richards wet and scared and delicious.

Dr. Christmas Jones: The world's greatest terrorist running around with six kilos of weapons-grade plutonium can't be good. I gotta get it back, or someone's gonna have my ass.
James Bond: First things first.

You mean, I can have my own reality tv show? For reals?

Dr. Christmas Jones: Doctor Jones. Christmas Jones, and don't tell me any jokes, I've heard them all.

James Bond: I don't know any doctor jokes.

Pierce Brosnan Denise Richards The World is Not Enough jamesbondreview.filminspector.com 1999
My hair only swirls like that when I think really hard.

James Bond: I've always wanted to have Christmas in Turkey.

Dr. Christmas Jones: Was that a Christmas joke?
James Bond: From me? No. Never.
Dr. Christmas Jones: Is it about time to unwrap your present?[They Kiss]

"Why, thanks, I got the bunny tatoo to celebrate my dissertation!"

James Bond: [in bed with Jones] I was wrong about you.
Dr. Christmas Jones: Yeah, how so?
James Bond: I thought Christmas only comes once a year.

"Charlie Sheen is crazy ... but I like crazy."

Dr. Christmas Jones: By the way, before we go any further, I just want to know. What's the story with you and Elektra?
James Bond: We're stictly plutonic, now.

Seriously, if you can't hear the snare drum and cymbal after each of those one-liners, you aren't paying attention. Denise, thank the gods, followed in the bra-straps of Lana Wood, Shirley Eaton and al the previous Bond girls who showed off their beauty with the good grace that the good Lord gave them and not a stitch of self-consciousness.

"Those Victoria's Secret girls think they're special, well, I haven't even begun to show what I've got!"

Denise is famous for dating Charlie Sheen, then marrying him, then then filing to divorce him, then reconciling with him, then getting a restraining order against him, then including him on her reality television show, then suing him to include her daughters on the show, then reconciling with each other and appearing on each other's television shows - yes, Denise, it sure is complicated.

Hi, I speak Russian, English and California surfer girl.

For "The World is Not Enough," Denise was honored with the "Worst Supporting Actress" award at the 1999 Razzies. In her defense, she also was nominated for the "Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Favorite Actress - Action" for the role.

I'm thinking one of those award panels had a lot of women on it, and the other had a lot of men - and I'm not sure which is which. But Denise did a fine job and was a good sport about playing a Bond girl.

Pierce Brosnan Denise Richards The World is Not Enough jamesbondreview.filminspector.com
That's a mighty big gun, and a great expression on Pierce looking at Denise - I love foreign print ads.

Denise was asked once by Larry King about her religious views. "I do have faith," she replied. To which we heartily agree, it is clear that she has tremendous faith her in her bodacious figure and classic profile.

"Denise, I think you're going to get something really special out of this."

The world is not enough for this classic beauty, indeed. One only hopes that Denise Richards continues to get roles that fit her acting talent. There will always be a place for Denise Richards in Hollywood.

"You really think I'm a good actress?"

Yes, I really mean that, Denise. The lovely Ms. Richards also starred in several other cult films. While never quite making it to the heights of Hollywood of an Angelina Jolie or Julia Roberts, Denise has made good use of her time there.

Denise showing that she has a very long tongue.

Denise did a wildly sexy turn in "Wild Things," the 1998 erotic thriller also starring Kevin Bacon, Matt Dillon, Robert Wagner and Bill Murray. Her pool scene with Neve Campbell is an utter erotic classic.

Richards also was a key player in "Starship Troopers," in which she proved that she could fill out a brown blouse to perfection.

Denise continues to act regularly. She recently appeared in the tv series "Twisted" and "90210." She also regularly appears in independent films such as "Cougars Inc." (2011) and "Fatal Acquittal" (2014). Probably her highest profile work since "The World is Not Enough" has been as a continuing performer on a couple of Charlie Sheen tv series, "Two and a Half Men" and "Spin City." Despite their personal travails, Denise and Charlie continue to work together amicably, Denise being a repeat performer in Charlie's current tv series "Anger Management."

We can't let go of Denise without a word or two about her scandalous affairs. Denise became notorious having an affair with musician Richie Sambora. Now, there's nothing scandalous about that part, but it's the part where Sambora was still married to Heather Locklear at the time which raised some eyebrows.

Denise later married Charlie Sheen, who obviously grew to like her as they worked together on their television series. The two had a a tempestuous relationship which involved drugs, divorce, a crazy subsequent wife of Sheen's, and Richards ultimately taking custody of Sheen's children for a while - which didn't work out well at all. Still a beauty to this day, Denise Richards remains in the public eye as one of the most prominent Bond girls even over a decade after her appearance as Christmas Jones.

Now that's how you want to look when you're pregnant!

Denise Richards continues to act in films such as "1st Born" (2018), "The Toybox" (2017) and "A Violent Man" (2017). In fact, she appeared in nine productions in 2017 alone. We can always expect the unexpected from Denise Richards: as she has said:
I'm spontaneous. I love going from one thing to something else and not knowing what I'm going to do next.

Eva Green.

Eva Gaëlle Green (born 5 July 1980) is a French actress and model who gained fame in Bernardo Bertolucci's "The Dreamers" (2003) and in the James Bond film "Casino Royale" (2006). She later starred as Artemisia in "300: Rise of an Empire." Eva is a well-regarded high-fashion model who wears leather as well as anyone.

Bernardo Bertolucci's "The Dreamers" (2003) was Eva's film debut, and quite a debut role it was. Eva played Isabelle, an unconventional young woman who lived with her brother and engaged in sex with an American visitor - both at the same time.

Everybody loved "The Dreamers," which also paid direct homages to French films of the '60s. It led immediately to more roles for the ravishingly beautiful Eva Green.

Eva's next major role was in Ridley Scott's "Kingdom of Heaven," in which she played Sibylla of Jerusalem, a real historical figure. Eva had to test repeatedly before finally winning the role at the last minute. She was told that she had the role a week before filming began.

"Kingdom of Heaven" also was a daring role, with her character engaged in an affair with an Englishman, but much of her screen time was cut to make it a little less risqué. Fortunately, the lost footage was restored in the director's cut.

The next step for Eva was another huge one up. She was chosen to play Vesper Lynd in the remake of "Casino Royale" (2006) opposite James Bond actor Daniel Craig. She received terrific notices for her role, and this time her scenes were not cut.

With several fine roles under her belt, Eva next played Serafina Pekkala in "The Golden Compass" (2007), which also starred Daniel Craig again.

Empire Magazine listed Eva Green as one of the 100 Sexiest Movie Stars in film history in 2007.

Eva is uncomfortable watching herself on screen, and rarely watches her own films more than once or twice.

The LA Times Magazine chose Eva as one of the 50 Most Beautiful Women in Film in 2011.

Eva was offered a role in "Wonder Woman" (2017) as Dr. Maru, but she declined the role. It went to Elena Anaya instead.

While Eva is identified with her dark hair, in fact she is a natural blonde. She dyed it herself while still a teenager and thinks that her hair looks better dark.

Eva has been a star for her entire life, and that is not an exaggeration. She had her first magazine cover when she was two months old.

Eva went to an English-language school in Paris and speaks absolutely flawless English.

Eva scandalized her parents by her debut role in "The Dreamers," which involves a lot of nudity. They recalled what happened to Maria Schneider after "Last Tango in Paris" (1972). Fortunately, things worked out much better for Eva.

One of Eva's hobbies is composing music for flute and piano.

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com

Eva is part Swedish, English and Breton on her father's side, part Sephardic Jewish on her mother's.

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com

It [her sex scenes in "The Dreamers"] must be very shocking for the American people, but what I don't understand is why they are so crazy about that. I don't understand why you can't see naked people on screen but we can see a baby being killed. It's quite strange. They're too puritan, too uptight.

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com

For me, acting is like a therapy. I can express myself fully when I am acting and have blood in my veins. Even when I'm not working, I'm always living in my own world, imagining characters.

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com

I have Algerian, Turkish, Swedish, Spanish blood: I feel like a citizen of the world. Life and cinema don't have borders.

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com

I don't want to be a Hollywood star. I just want to do my job and enjoy it. My aim is to find my true identity and to remain true to myself.

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com

I don't believe in awards. It's very good for the ego, I suppose.

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com

I was in LA last week for a meeting and I don't like it. I get knots in my stomach and have to walk around a museum to make myself feel better. It's a cruel place, very hierarchical. If you're in the middle, you're shit, and if you're at the bottom, you're nothing. The people have no idea about anything that doesn't come from Hollywood. Most of them have never heard of "The White Ribbon" or "A Prophet," and the only film of mine they know is Bond, because it made lots of money. I'm the Bond girl. It's as though it's written on my forehead.

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com

I was in this play and I didn't get on with the director and didn't like the play. It was very grotesque, you know? Too much makeup and wigs and I was playing, like, this coquette. I was on stage for most of the time apart from three minutes when I was allowed to go off and pee in a bucket. And for those three minutes I was sitting on a bucket, peeing and crying at the same time. Oh, it was terrible. It was a nightmare. I hated it so much.

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com

You've got to have desire, otherwise you just die. A lot of people, they're 80 or 90 years old, and they die because they have nothing left to live for. It makes you alive if you have something you want in life. My first drama teacher was very passionate - she was full of energy - it was all about work, work work, then you can achieve something that is beyond your limits.

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com

I know it sounds very clichéd but it's true. I'm the first one to forget. Life is short - enjoy it. And do your best. Even if you fail, you've done your best.

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com

It's so boring to play the girlfriend. Most of the women in film are there to be beautiful to the man. It's quite hard to find a ballsy or complex character.

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com
I was such a nerd in school that it's been a good exercise for me to be able to talk a bit about myself. I'm always scared of words in real life, if they're not on a page in a script. To talk about myself, I feel like, Oh, my god...

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com

I'm fairly blonde. I've been dyeing my hair black since I was 15 and I've stuck with that look ever since. It's my way of hiding myself I suppose. I think I look more interesting with dark hair. It's part of my self-image and we all have a darker side. I like to put masks on sometimes because I haven't always been that confident and you fall into the trap of continuing to hide your real self even though you've changed and grown a lot as an individual. I feel more open but it's not always easy for me to show that.

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com

I was not offered something interesting [after "Casino Royale"] by Hollywood. Every role was the boring beautiful girl. Instead of doing that, I made movies that not a lot of people saw but were good for my heart. I've always found the movie business rather cold, so finding parts to play and having people enjoy them has made this year a miracle for me.

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com

It's a bit pretentious to come home and remain in character. Can you imagine? It must be pretty hard to live with. I'm sure Daniel Day-Lewis is very sweet but if he takes some of those roles home with him then it must be quite tense. I wouldn't want to be his wife.

Eva Green leather celebrityleatherfashions.filminspector.com

The sex scenes were quite full on and frank in The Dreamers (2003). I had a scene in which my own character has to lose her virginity. I had to remember how I felt when I first had sex. I am so reserved in real life, but I surprised myself completely. I was asked if I wanted some alcohol before some of the scenes - and admit that I did have some whiskey. There was a breaking of the ice before the sex scene. The actor Louis Garrel came into my trailer and said: 'I will show you my dick if you show me your breasts.' So I did - and he did. He said to me: 'They look great.' So when it came to the sex scenes, it made it a little easier.
