Yasmin Le Bon (29 October 1964) was one of the top models of the 1980s. She is perhaps most famous for becoming the wife of singer Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran.
Yasmin was born Yasmin Parvaneh in Oxford, England. She knew that she wanted to model at a young age, and signed with a local agency while still in school.
She promptly signed with Models 1 Agency in London after graduation when a friend introduced her to them.

Her first Ready to Wear was for Katharine Hammett and Roland Klein in 1985. This was shortly after she met Simon, whom she married on 27 December 1985 at the height of Duran Duran's fame.
It was not a glamorous wedding, taking place two days before Christmas at the register office of Oxford’s Westgate shopping centre. They rushed the wedding because Simon was about to embark on an around-the-world boat race, and Simon, who already had barely survived a boat accident earlier in the year, was worried that he might not return.
Yasmin appeared in the "A View to a Kill" music video, which was a number 1 hit in the States and, to date, the only James Bond film theme to claim that distinction. The video, incidentally, prominently features drones, something virtually unheard of at the time.
Yasmin's first big campaign was for Guess? in 1987. She became a staple of top fashion magazine covers on both sides of the Atlantic, but there is no question that she is more renowned in the UK. Yasmin remembers having a lot of fun with the other supermodels of the era, but is careful to note that it was not just fun and games while earning her keep as a supermodel:
I’m not sure we lived the life that people think we did. We were all just working really hard. You’re in a grim hotel room, exhausted, never having eaten enough, your insecurities being fed again and again.
Below is a sample of her covers from the UK and the US, though she has many others around the world.

Widely respected in the modelling field, Yasmin was honored to grace the covers of the first UK Elle in 1985, the fifth anniversary issue in 1990, and also the tenth anniversary edition in 1995. She also was on the cover of the first American Elle. Yasmin has her own women's jewelry and clothing collections called YLB.
Yasmin fairly recently has modelled recently for Giorgio Armani, Sisley, Stella McCartney and Chanel. She has three daughters with Simon: Amber Rose, Saffron Sahara and Tallulah Pine. Amber herself has done some recent modelling work.
One of Yasmin's outside interests is motor car racing, and she competed successfully in the 2013 Mille Miglia in Italy. She also has appeared at other auto events, such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2011. Unfortunately, in November 2015 Yasmin had an accident while racing that broke her shoulder blade, three ribs and suffered deep scarring to her left arm. She and Amber had signed up for a charity challenge to drive 500km in a tuk-tuk across India. Yasmin has healed completely from that. Daughter Amber, in the back seat, had barely a scratch.
Yasmin and Simon have three daughters, all born in London:
- Saffron Sahara (born September 1991) and
After all three girls had graduated into their 20s, Yasmin gave an interview with the The Mail that she had a difficult time with the girls. Just like virtually every other mother, Yasmin found handling the girls during their teens to be an epic struggle:
Nobody can tear your heart apart within a couple of words like [your children] can… I had been a punchbag for a long time and it was having an effect. That whole emotional drain pushed me over the edge... I was in a dark place.Yasmin characterized it as being a "breakdown," but says that she is past that now - now that the girls are in their 20s, that is. At last word, all three daughters still live at home.
Yasmin remains active in the modelling scene, represented by Elite Model Management and Trump Model Management, and maintains her own website.
