Sara Jean Underwood (born March 26, 1984) is a Playboy model who also is an actress on the rise.
As Playmate of the Month for July 2006, Sara Jean embodies the wholesome look with a sharp edge that Hugh Hefner is known to favor in his models.
Sara Jean was so successful that she went on to become Playmate of the Year for 2007.
Sara was born in Portland, Oregon and was a high school classmate of longtime NFL, and current Carolina Panthers, quarterback Derek Anderson. In fact, not only did they go to OSU together, Derek and Sara Jean even attended the same high school, Scappoose High School. Underwood is good friends with Anderson's wife, Lisa. Anderson has said:
Actually, my wife and her grew up together and are pretty good friends. It's kind of funny; I send her a text every once in awhile and we give her a hard time. People never believe me, really, that we know each other.
After working in various jobs such as heavy equipment sales and as a Hooters Girl, she sent in some pictures to Playboy Magazine. That decision changed her life.
Sara Jean was chosen for one of Playboy's features, the 2005 Girls of the Pac-10 pictorial. Her cover shot was notorious for her appearing in body paint of the Oregon State Beavers football jersey.
That helped lead to Sara's selection as Playmate for July 2006. Sara Jean earned the rare distinction of being the first Playmate for July in the magazine's 50 years to be chosen as Playmate of the Year (the summer months of May, June and July historically have produced very few Playmates of the Year). Sara Jean Underwood became Playmate of the Year for 2007. The meant that, finally, every month had produced a Playmate of the Year. She broke the glass ceiling. Whew!
Sara Jean has the "girl next door" image that is closely associated with Playboy Magazine, and in fact appeared in the E! network's tv series "The Girls Next Door" to earn her way into getting a test shoot.
Oregon State University female students were proud of Sara Jean. The students saw her as a strong, successful woman. The female students created a controversy by putting up a poster of Sara Jean in public on campus that university security quickly removed. She continues to model for Playboy.
In addition to her modelling work, Sara Jean has appeared in various films such as "Epic Movie," "The House Bunny" and "Miss March." She also has worked as a presenter on shows such as G4's "Attack of the Show" and "The Feed."

Sara Jean is an avid practitioner of yoga. In fact, she competed in the 8th Kunoichi competition in Japan, known in the U.S. as Women of Ninja Warrior. Against very stiff competition, she advanced past the first stage, a rare feat for an American.
