World-Class Beauty Elisha Cuthbert Shoots and She Scores!
Elisha Ann Cuthbert (born November 30, 1982) is a Canadian film and television actress who starred for many years on the Fox TV series "24" with Kiefer Sutherland. However, many remember Elisha most fondly from her breakthrough role as the titular figure in "The Girl Next Door" (2004) and several other provocative performances.
Elisha also is well known for her work in numerous high-profile films such as "Love Actually (2003)" "Old School (2003)" and "House of Wax (2005)."
Elisha was born in Calgary, Alberta and began modelling when she was 9. Television work soon followed, and she became a regular on "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" in 1996. Co-hosting "Popular Mechanics for Kids" during the run of that show brought Elisha an invitation to the White House to meet Hillary Clinton during the late '90s while she was still in her teens.
Memorable roles in cult film such as "Love Actually" and "Old School" a few years later led to her first lead role, "The Girl Next Door," a film about an adult film star who... lives next door. Elisha's biggest break, however, was being chosen to play Kim Bauer in "24," a role that lasted for three seasons and occasional return visits later.
Cuthbert eventually moved behind the camera, helping to produce some indie films such as "The Quiet." She also appeared on the ABC comedy "Happy Endings" for three years before it was cancelled.
In addition to being a very talented actress, Elisha Cuthbert is a notorious sexpot who made the "hottest women" lists for a solid decade - a feat which is quite unusual for just about anyone. As proof: Elisha was named to Maxim magazine's Hot 100 list in 2002... and 2003... 2004 ... 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013. I don't know what happened in 2005 and 2010, maybe Elisha was on the International Space Station or something and thus ineligible for "hottest girls on earth" lists.
Being Canadian, Elisha skates and is a big hockey fan. She probably also says "Eh?" a lot and wears flannel at home. Okay, yes, I am a terrible, terrible person.
Being a proud Canadian undoubtedly contributed to Elisha's decision to date some NHL players. She ultimately married one, Toronto Maple Leafs Captain Dion Phaneuf, in 2013. They live in Ottawa during the hockey season and on Phaneuf's spread on Prince Edward Island during the summers.
I have a confession: I keep wanting to type her name as "Eliza." I know, as I said, I'm a terrible person. It's Elisha. Elisha. Elisha Cuthbert. There, now all better. There was a famous character actor named Elisha Cook, Jr. who, among many, many other things, appeared on the original "Star Trek." But this isn't that Elisha, he's dead (RIP) and our Elisha is very much alive.
Elisha currently stars on Netflix television series "The Ranch" as Abby. "The Ranch" has an outstanding cast for a television series, including Ashton Kutcher, Debra Winger and Sam Elliott among many other standouts, so Elisha is in fine company.
Off set, I'm always dancing and acting like an idiot. I'm kind of goofy and do stupid things. Am I a comic genius? I don't know. But I can be funny.
I'm a huge fan of videogames and comic books. I'm not die-hard or anything, but I definitely appreciate the art in it, which is really cool.
[Kiefer Sutherland] taught me not to read anything in the media or on the Internet. He's definitely a long-time mentor to me.Kiefer is a very smart man.
I'm very mellow. I think if I hadn't become an actress, I would've lived the simple life. You know, get married and sit on my porch. And maybe skated a bit. Eh? (I know, I know, I'm so sorry Elisha).
I definitely believe in fate. And I believe what you put in is what you get in return. That's the way it's worked for me. As for the big picture--there's some sort of plan.
I was lucky . . . [in Los Angeles] I found what I wanted to do when I was 11.
I don't ever want to be doing the same sort of thing, I never want to be typecast, because I have way too much to give to be sort of, to always be the hot chick in the movie.
Elisha has fond memories of her time on a Weezer video set while filming the video for "Perfect Situation":
I remember just sort of thinking, "I'm not going to get to do this too, too often", so I just went crazy and threw alcohol around. I was acting ridiculous and screaming at everybody and throwing a fit.
Elisha also has appeared in music videos for Paris Hilton ("Nothing In This World"), The Gaslight Anthem ("Here Comes My Man"), and Little Brutes ("Make Our Own Way"). The Little Brutes video in particular prominently features Elisha.
Elisha starred as Lizzie on "One Big Happy" in 2015, but it was cancelled after only six episodes.
With friends and family in Montreal, it's always in the back of my mind. I like going back. I miss the nightlife. It's such a great city. I've been a lot of places in the world, and I'm sure I'm biased because I grew up there, but I love it.
