Where Women Glow, Miranda Kerr Glows Bright
Miranda May Kerr (born 20 April 1983) is an Australian model who is almost as famous for her high-profile relationships as for her work. She is a former Victoria's Secret Angel who has branched out into many different areas of interest and maintains a popular website.

Kerr is from Sydney and was raised in the small town of Gunnedah, New South Wales, which is about 200 miles to the northwest of Sydney, away from the coast and deep in the countryside. She is of English/French/Scottish ancestry. Her family later moved to Brisbane.
At age 13, Miranda entered the 1997 annual model competition sponsored by Dolly Magazine. Before she was 14, she signed with Chic Management and was shooting for Dolly, and this set off a firestorm in certain quarters about underage models (the aftereffects of which would would later envelop other promising young supermodels in Australia such as Jac Jagaciak).
Miranda shrugged it off:
"In the media at the time they were trying to cling on to anything remotely to do with paedophilia. Dolly is a magazine for teenage girls, not for old men. And I was fully clothed! Doing a winter shoot! They just made something out of nothing."
Regardless of what some thought of her age, advertisers loved Miranda. She represented surf chain Billabong, and soon was on her way to New York, where she signed with NEXT Model Management.
She still focused on the Australian market, though, appearing in television spots for Portmans, Bonds and Veet.
Miranda has a huge number of Australian covers, which is a reflection of her dominant popularity in that market. As a measure of her international popularity, her United States and United Kingdom covers give a good idea:
Miranda soon represented Maybelline New York, which brought her huge exposure in the US market. Victoria's Secret also noticed the precocious Aussie, and they signed Miranda as an Angel - the top of the top - in 2007. She walked in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows for 2006-2009 and 2011-2012, and replaced Alessandra Ambrosio as the face of Victoria's Secret PINK.
She was chosen to wear the fantasy bra at the 2011 Victoria's Secret Show, which is about the peak of the hierarchy among models. Other huge contracts followed, including with Clinique, XOXO and David Jones.
As one of the world's top supermodels, Miranda naturally has branched out into other entertainment areas. She appeared on Project Runway, was in the Kanye West/Pharrell music video 'Number One,' appeared in the 2010 Pirelli calender, released the self-help book 'Treasure Yourself,' and showed her singing talents when she released a cover of Elvis Presley's 'You're the Boss' in 2014.
Miranda also became an ambassador for Australia's national airline, Qantas, and filmed various public service spots for issues such as Wildlife Warriors Worldwide and Children International. Naturally, she makes the usual (FHM, Esquire UK, AskMen, Men's Health) 'sexiest women' lists.
Aside from the age issues early in her career, Miranda has had her share of controversy. Heck, nobody's perfect, and she is scrutinized as much as any model alive. Kerr's contracts with Victoria's Secret and David Jones were not renewed in 2013, which was unusual for a model clearly still at the top of her game.
There were the usual varying accounts as to why, with the word 'difficult' thrown around - Victoria's Secret honcho Ed Razek promptly tried to squelch the negative talk by stating that Miranda was invited to walk in that year's show - but she did not appear. There may be some hard feelings there, who knows. She last appeared in the Victoria's Secret catalog in 2012.
Miranda has done her share of provocative work, which resulted in a bizarre controversy when a Sydney banker was accidentally filmed viewing the not-safe-for-work images on his computer (he kept his job, with Miranda's full support, and she received huge publicity as a result). In another sketchy incident, the infamous Hollywood "Bling Ring" broke into then-boyfriend Orlando Bloom's home looking for her Victoria's Secret lingerie, and another former boyfriend was convicted of fraud.
In addition, her name came up during the infamous public brawl between billionaires James Packer and David Gyngell in early 2014. As you can see, with most of these incidents Miranda was an innocent bystander. In a way it just reinforces how iconic she has become in many different areas of life. It also demonstrates that a beautiful woman can inadvertently disturb The Force.
Miranda was married to Orlando Bloom for several years (2010-2013), and together they have a son, Flynn Christopher Bloom. She does not regret the experience:
You can't close yourself off from love. I try to keep my heart open and not feel afraid.Kerr has turned to Buddhist practices, though she states that she remains a Christian. Meditation is one of her great passions. Miranda attributes her looks to coconut oil, which she eats daily, and it must work because she remains at the top of the modelling game.
Is Miranda Kerr the world's top model? Really, who is to say, there are so many ways to measure that sort of achievement. Miranda Kerr certainly is the top supermodel Down Under. As for the rest of the world, she is among the elite, and that ain't beanbag.
Miranda married again in 27 May 2017, to Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel. She wore a Dior Haute Couture gown, with photos of the wedding published in Vogue. Unbidden, Miranda volunteered that they had been chaste until the wedding night. Afterwards, they honeymooned in Fiji. The couple and Flynn live in Brentwood, California.
