Models often develop continuing relationships with particular magazines for one reason or another, and Eurowoman uses Maria a lot. She appeared on Eurowman most recently on the cover of the August 2016 issue.
Maria is from Århus, Denmark, and says that she grew up in a rural atmosphere surrounded by horses. At 16, she entered a modelling contest being held by Divamodels at Århus and beat out almost 500 other girls. Now that's how it's done!
Maria continued on with her schooling for a while, but the lure of the fashion scene was just too much for her to resist. After dropping out of high school (much to the dismay of her parents), Maria moved to Paris at age 17 and joined an agency.
Maria has dramatic stories about her early days, such as when she got fired from her first agency for not answering a modelling call that woke her up around midnight because she did not feel safe.
She soldiered on, however. Maria's big breakthrough was a cover on Elle France, a very prestigious assignment.
Maria has a classic Scandinavian look that gets her a lot of work in the major fashion centers of Tokyo, New York, Paris, Barcelona and Milan. However, she works mostly in Europe.
Maria's covers include:
- France: “Madame Figaro” (December 2002), Elle (May 2003- August 2003) “Marie Claire” (July 2004)
Maria is a working model, and living a life that may appear glamorous but often isn't.
Modelling involves lots of casting calls, and the competition is fierce. Maria went through all of that during her early days in Paris. However, now she is secure enough to not need to answer the phone in the middle of the night.
Maria maintains an Instagram page She has dark brown hair and beautiful blue eyes, and weighs 52kg and is 177cm. Her beauty keeps her working at the top levels of the fashion industry.
Like many beautiful models, Maria Gregersen recently has turned her hand to acting. This is a no-brainer, since films are a primarily visual medium, and who doesn't like to look at a pretty girl?
Maria made what apparently was her cinematic debut in "Venner I Dag" (2017). It is a "The Big Chill" kind of film, with old classmates reuniting at a funeral, where they "reconnect." Our hero, Dex (Hervé Toure), sees Maria for the first time since school and decides she is "the one." He spends the rest of the film pursuing Maria, but she is getting married to someone else - and, truthfully, can you blame him?
Maria's cover photo on the August 2016 Eurowoman showed her as obviously pregnant, and she is taking some time off from modelling to care for her child. She says that the pregnancy was planned and that she intends to return to modelling. Maria says that she would like "4 or 5" children, but she is in her 30s and that may take some doing.
Pregnant or not, Maria is comfortable with her body:
If they want one with a narrower waist or fewer freckles, they must book another.
Maria's father is an architect, and that appears to have rubbed off on Maria. Maria went back to get her high school diploma in her 20s, then studied law at the university. Now, she studies interior design in Denmark at The Architecture School and serves as a consultant on remodelling projects. Maria also has her own business with friends which sells vintage chandeliers and other home decorating items.
Maria Gregersen lives in Frederiksberg with her boyfriend in an old house that she has been renovating. She is putting the skills that she has been acquiring in school to good use.
We'll certainly be seeing more of the lovely Maria Gregersen, who has a lot going on all the time!
