Luján Fernández (born 1979, some sources say 1985) is a former Argentine model. She is very well known for her appearances in 1999, 2000 and 2001 in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues.
Lujan followed an unusual path to modelling. She began her career in acting, performing on local television programs as a child.
At the age of 14, while on a Uruguayan beach, a talent scout spotted her (isn't that how it always happens?). Before long, Lujan had moved to New York
Lujan's covers include:
- France: 'Vogue'
- Germany: 'Vogue'
- Italy: 'Photo'
- UK: 'Arena' - April 2000
- US: 'Vogue'; 'Harper's Bazaar (en Español)'
Lujan appeared on the runway and in print ads for all the top brands:
- Ralph Lauren
- John Bartlett
- Perry Ellis
- Victoria's Secret Catalogs
Particularly active in the 1999-2001 period, Lujan was named to the Maxim 100 Sexiest Women list in 2001.
She since appears to have retired from modelling, though apparently she still is listed with Ford Models.
Lujan may be trying to break into the acting world. She appeared in "Just the Beginning" (2016), a comedy short directed by Abraham López Guerrero about extraterrestrials, which apparently is her first film credit.
She first appeared on camera in the "Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit 2001" film about her swimsuit edition appearance.
Lujan is a Pisces.
There is a graphics artist online with the same name, but she is not the model Luján Fernández.
While Luján Fernández has kept a low profile in the international modelling world lately, Lujan was in Maxi Trusso's music video for his song "Make You Mine" in late 2016.
