Leilani Bishop (born September 11, 1976) is an American fashion model from the great State of Hawaii. At age 15, she was discovered on the island of Kauai by model agent Cindy Kauanui of Jet Set Models.
Leilani quickly nabbed the usual magazine covers such as Flare, Seventeen and Allure magazines, and she was off and running.
Leilani has represented top brands such as:
- Tommy Hilfiger,
- Esprit, and
- Victoria's Secret.
Leilani did editorials for:
Leilani modeled for, among many others:
- Avon Azzaro pour Homme frigate,
- Eileen Fisher,
- Esprit International,
- Paco Rabanne,
- Redken ,
- Tommy Hilfiger ' Tommy Girl' fragrance.
Leilani's moment of greatest fame happened for an odd reason when she was shot by Ellen Von Unwerth in 1993 for a band cover. In 1994, Bishop appeared on the cover of Hole's album 'Live Through This' dressed in most un-model-like style, as unglamorous as she likely ever has looked.

Leilani was depicted wearing beauty pageant attire complete with a tiara and a bouquet of flowers, mascara running down her face in tears of joy.
Courtney Love, the leader of 'Hole,' stated in an interview that she:
“Wanted to capture the look on a woman’s face as she’s being crowned… this sort of ecstatic, blue eyeliner running, kind of ‘I am, I am— I won! I have hemorrhoid cream under my eyes and adhesive tape on my butt, and I had to scratch and claw ... my way up, but I won Miss Congeniality!’”It marked the peak of Hole's life as a band, one of the most iconic album covers of all time, and the most memorable cover of that decade.
Leilani moved into acting and, in 2000, she played the role of Resin, "the rudest and most selfish and narcissistic cover girl ever to sulk down a runaway," in the movie 'The Intern.' Her interests extend far outside the runway.
Bishop is the founder and president of Women for the World, a non-profit organization based in Santa Monica. In 2012, Leilani created the Leilani Bishop Collection of fragrances, which she sells through her website as well as elsewhere, and still works as a model.
