Clara Alonso (born September 21, 1987) is a Spanish model (from Asturias) who first walked the runways for Victoria's Secret in 2008. Only three previous Spanish models - Helena Barquilla in 1995; Esther Cañadas in 1997; and Eugenia Silva, in 1998/1999 - had ever been a Victoria's Secret model.
Clara waited to become a model until she had completed her studies. Then, she met John Pfeiffer, a major power behind the runway scenes. This was the spark that created a sensation.
Clara Alonso soon was walking the runway in Florence, and Diane von Furstenberg hired her on the spot to show off her collections elsewhere (June 2008 and spring/summer 2009 in New York City).
Since then, Clara Alonso, who has light brown hair and green eyes, has been in high demand. She won the L´Oreal award for best model at the Spanish Fashion Week in 2010, and has worked for GUESS, Armani and many, many other top designers.
Clara also has begun to do some acting, playing a role in tv series "Violetta" on the Disney Channel and appearing in The Disney Channel Games.
According to her website, Clara's favorite number is 21 (she must play blackjack a lot!), she loves pizza and syrup (Melado), and her favorite film is "P.S. I Love You." Oh, and if she were marooned on a desert island, she would take... her dog, Pepo. She also loves to shop.
We love to look at Clara, and we'll certainly be seeing a lot more of her in coming years.
Clara remains at the top of her game. She was on the cover of the May 2016 Glamour Italy, the June 2014 Harper's Bazaar Spain, and the December 2013 Elle Sweden.
