Malin Akerman at Her Sexiest in "Watchmen"
Anyone who has seen Swedish-born Malin Akerman (actually, Malin Maria Åkerman) in "Watchmen" knows that she had some of the best scenes in that film. She starred as Laurie Jupiter / Silk Spectre II, and her main role was to prance about in one of the best leather get-ups in film history.
|This is a textbook example of how to steal a scene.|
Malin went to Catholic school, but says that she is a Buddhist.
Malin's first big acting gig was in "Earth: Final Conflict" in 1997. Strangely, she played a robot. She followed that up with appearances on several other Canadian television series.
Malin got a small role in cult classic " Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle." Her career built gradually.
Nothing compared to her greatest role, however. After years of kicking around Hollywood, in 2009, Åkerman starred as Silk Spectre II in the superhero film "Watchmen," an adaptation of Alan Moore's graphic novel.
Malin steals every scene she appears in, and some she doesn't. She is basically the only thing people remember from that film.
Her outfit from the film became a favorite Hollywood costume. Now that's fame!
Malin's career continued pretty much as it had been going after "Watchmen." She specializes in supporting roles, such as in the Jennifer Aniston romantic comedy "Wanderlust."
Malin also snagged a lead role in a television series, "Trophy Wife."
Malin has a lotus flower tattoo on her upper back. She also has a tattooed 'Z' on her right wrist.
The "Z" honors Italian musician Roberto Zincone, her husband. The two met in 2003 when Åkerman was the lead singer for The Petalstones, for which Zincone served as the drummer. Yes, Malin sings, too.
The two married at Grand Hotel Moon Valley in Sorrento, Italy on June 20, 2007. They have one son, Sebastian Zincone, born on April 16, 2013. On November 25, 2013, the couple announced that they were separating, and Zincone filed for divorce on December 2, 2013.
Malin has made the Hottest Girl lists of the lad magazines like Maxim and FHM.
Malin keeps working. She has an enviable list of roles in major productions.
However, there is no question what role she will be remembered for.
And what's wrong with that? Malin owns that role.
But, beneath all the tinsel, Malin is just a regular girl.
But don't cross her. Silk Spectre might just jump out.
