|Katy Perry, America's Sweetheart.|
Katy Perry (born October 25, 1984) is one of the top pop hit machines in modern music history. Her album "Teenage Dream" broke all sorts of records with its seemingly endless stream of hit singles. Katy, though, isn't actually Katy Perry. The singer we know as Katy Perry is named Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson. So, it is Katy Hudson who has all those hits.
Ms. Hudson changed her name to avoid confusion with the actress Kate Hudson. Perry is her mother's maiden name.

Legend has it that Katy tried to impress the nuns by, among other things, showing them her religious tattoo. That didn't seem to work that well. She also sang a religious song, but had to look the words up on her phone. Again, the nuns were not amused. Katy deserves points for trying, though.

Some would say that Katy's true international stardom began that week, but others would say that Katy was a huge star long before that - and, of course, she was.
